We indulged in a few Murrieta’s classics for lunch - the consistent favourites that stay on the menu year-round as they’ve become favourites among regulars and new visitors alike.
You can never go wrong with pasta, and Murrieta's does it right. We loved the scallop fettuccine featuring a smoky, zippy chorizo sausage, fresh, bright cherry tomatoes and, of course, big, juicy scallops all tossed in a simple, fresh aglio olio sauce and topped with Parmesan cheese. The pasta was perfectly done and the dish is perfect to enjoy with a glass of wine from the extensive wine list.
If you’re looking for something a little heartier, the lamb meatball spaghetti is a real gem with the lamb delicately seasoned with a hint of mint and tossed in a roasted garlic tomato and basil.
The roasted salmon is a lighter delight served on a bed of couscous over a schmeer of zesty roasted red pepper paste and accompanied by a fresh tomato and cucumber salad. Perfect for lunch.
Finally, Murrieta’s 12-ounce New York steak is something to treat yourself to when the occasion calls for something special. Grilled to your taste, 31-day-aged Alberta beef is served with creamy mashed potatoes and fresh, seasonal grilled vegetables.
