Jasperites and other Albertans evacuated due to wildfires can join another town hall hosted by the Government of Alberta on Tuesday (Aug 6.).
The town hall runs from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and can be joined online at alberta.ca/emergency or by phone at 1-833-380-0691.
Evacuees will be able to get updates on the wildfire situation and answers to their questions from the provincial government, Alberta Wildfire and other government officials.
For those who cannot join, a recording will be available after the event.
The first town hall took place last Monday (July 29), with Premier Danielle Smith, provincial ministers, Jasper officials and others attending.
The Jasper Wildfire Complex remains out-of-control, and Jasper National Park and the townsite continue to be under an evacuation order.
Reception centres in Grande Prairie, Calgary and Edmonton continue to provide support to evacuees.
The province invites Jasper residents whose homes have been damaged or destroyed to register for a bus tour of the townsite.
Officials will share information on re-entry plans as it becomes available.
As of Saturday (Aug. 3), there are 118 wildfires burning across Alberta in the Forest Protection Area, with 18 classified as out-of-control, 47 being held and 53 under control.
Fire bans remain in place for much of the Forest Protection Area.
High Level, Grande Prairie, Edson and parts of the Whitecourt Forest Area have moved to a fire restriction.
