We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of André Marc Gigon, following a courageous battle of cancer. Andre was a long term resident of Canmore, a jack of all trades who served the community with dedication.
He is survived by his family in Canmore (Pia, Lucas (Meaghan) and Nicolai) as well as his father (René), brother Marcel (Therese), Manuela (Tinu), Lea, (Silas), sister (Silvia).
André’s smile, his caring nature and his leadership, will he forever be missed by his family. He was a dedicated father to Lucas and Nicolai, in whom he inspired a life-long love of nature. His final desire was that his words of gratitude be shared. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Thank you to everyone who crossed my path and therefore enriched my life!
I am very grateful to all of you who invited me to their homes and even shared a drink or a meal with me. Cheers to wonderful times and talks!
A very special thank you to everyone who even joined me for a day of skiing or hiking through our beautiful valleys, over passes to lakes and summits! I never regretted a minute of our times on the trails and wish we could have explored more parts of this wonderful landscape we are fortunate to live in.
My friend Dr. W. Brzezinski was also a great source for advice and support in my life. Thanks again Wojtek!
The very biggest THANK YOU goes to Pia, Lucas and Nicolai for welcoming me into the family, for all the love and care I received from you. The three of you are the source for the proudest and happiest days of my life. I wish we could have lived our dreams a little longer. Hugs and kisses for you all.
