Black Diamond has recalled all of its AvaLung packs sold after January 2010.
The company recently discovered the intake tubing on certain packs might crack in cold temperatures.
The AvaLung is a breathing system which allows avalanche victims to breathe fresh air directly from the snowpack and disperses carbon dioxide away from the air intake. Avalanche victims typically survive about 15 minutes buried in the snow, but the AvaLung can allow victims to breathe for much longer.
