CANMORE – Canmore RCMP have charged a local man with drug trafficking after executing a warrant in a local hotel room.
According to a press release, officers searched the hotel room on Saturday (Dec. 8) that was being used as a residence by 30-year-old Canmore resident Haven Soly.
The search warrant was the result of a month-long investigation by the local detachment and Soly was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime and two counts of possession of a
dangerous weapon.
Canmore RCMP also laid charges against a local man for trafficking in cocaine after pulling him over in a vehicle for a traffic stop.
According to a press release, RCMP stopped a vehicle on Nov. 24 and officers suspected the driver to be under the influence of alcohol.
During an investigation a substantial amount of cocaine was discovered in the driver’s possession. Stephen Vickers, 32, was subsequently charged with impaired driving and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
