Bill Grainger, also known as William John Paavola, will be lovingly remembered by family and friends. He was born in Nordegg, AB and raised in Canmore, AB by Ralph and Doris Grainger (both deceased). In early childhood, prior to joining the Grainger family, he suffered a traumatic brain injury which left him with lifelong challenges.
Bill loved music, animals, football and hockey. He enjoyed bingo and dinners at the Legion, walking and going for coffee. Despite physical difficulties, he would walk from Canmore to Dead Man Flats, have a coffee and then walk all the way back home.
Bill's family would like to express their gratitude to all those whose support and care over the years enabled Bill to live his best life. Special thanks are extended to the first floor team at Silverado Creek Seniors Community for their exceptional care.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Bill to the Bow Valley SPCA (www.bowvalleyspca.org). Condolences may be forwarded to the family at www.piersons.ca.
