COLUMBIA ICEFIELDS – The Jasper RCMP is asking anyone that recorded video footage at the Columbia Icefield Adventure during the tour before a fatal rollover earlier this month to contact them.
According to a press release Wednesday afternoon (July 29), the RCMP collision reconstruction analyst continues to investigate the July 18 incident that killed three passengers and sent 24 to hospital – 14 in critical life-threatening condition.
"RCMP are looking to speak with anyone that may have video from the tour that occurred before the rollover incident," wrote Cpl. Ronald Bumbry in the release. "If you have video from the early morning tour, we would like to speak with you."
The tour that morning occurred at approximately 11:45 a.m. with the same Ice Explorer vehicle that rolled down the embankment later that day – known as Unit 547 Bison.

Meanwhile, RCMP have removed the specially designed motor coach from the rocky terrain near the Athabasca Glacier for further analysis.
Pursuit Banff Jasper Collection operations at the Columbia Icefield Adventure and the Glacier Skywalk remain suspended while the investigation is underway.
