Alberta Health Services has lifted a boil water advisory for additional areas of the Jasper townsite after confirming that satisfactory water quality has been restored in these areas effective immediately.
Residents and businesses in areas where the advisory is lifted no longer have to boil water and can resume consuming water normally.
Most of the southern half of the townsite had previously been under a boil water advisory, but it still applies to some neighbourhoods, much of the industrial area and some outlying accommodations.
The advisory will stay in effect for these areas until further notice.
AHS environmental public health officers will continue to monitor these areas, including sampling and testing of the drinking water to ensure it is safe for consumption, before lifting the advisory for them.
The Municipality of Jasper confirmed portable water stations will still be available for public use at three locations.
More information can be found at AHS’s website, and residents with health concerns can call Health Link at 811.
