SEE, Klaus Michael (1938 - 2024) passed away in Canmore on March 13th. Born in Germany, he emigrated to Canada in his early 20s, where he lived for the rest of his life.During his teenage years, Klaus was a competitive gymnast in his hometown of Düsseldorf. After mandatory military service, he began work at Jagenberg, a company that manufactured packaging and labelling machines. In 1962, Klaus was sent to Toronto to assist in the setting up of Jagenberg’s Canadian office, which grew under his watch over the next 25 years. He travelled internationally and often for his work, and later developed a love of sailboats. If he wasn’t at home, he could be found at Etobicoke Yacht Club, or on his boat.Always up for a good meal, Klaus enjoyed life and the many places it brought him, and always had tall tales at the ready. He moved to Canmore in 2014, to be closer to his daughter, Joanna. Klaus was a regular at Elevation Place, artsPlace, and The Legion.His family would like to thank the staff at the Bow River Seniors Lodge for their care.
