CANMORE – The Bow Valley Chamber of Commerce were recognized as the top chamber in Alberta with between 150 to 350 members.
The local organization was announced as the top chamber in the category for 2021 following their success in helping local businesses during the pandemic.
“Over the past 16 months, Alberta businesses have faced challenge after challenge. Through it all, the Bow Valley Chamber has provided nothing short of exceptional support to its members,” Ken Kobly, the president and CEO of the Alberta Chambers of Commerce, said in a release. “Congratulations on this very well-deserved honour.”
During the pandemic, the BVCC has been part of several initiatives to help businesses impacted by COVID-19.
They assisted with the Bow Valley Restart Fund that provided grants of up to $5,000 to several local businesses between July and November 2020, held an interactive webinar series called Thriving in the New Normal and launching the SMARTstart local entrepreneur training program.
They have also held 12 virtual events in 2021 to allow members to network, prepared to begin the 2022 peer mastermind program and ad small business week celebrations as well as run the 2020 support local campaign and the upcoming Buy It In The Bow fall 2021 campaign.
