FIELD, B.C. – The Trans-Canada Highway was shut in both directions for several hours on Monday afternoon (Sept. 10) after a motor vehicle collision near Field, B.C.
According to Golden RCMP, the highway was closed for three hours and since reopened. One person was injured, according to the RCMP press release and police continue to investigate the cause.
Drive B.C. reported the closure from the western boundary of Yoho National Park to the community of Field in both directions just past noon and at 12:47 p.m. STARS Air Ambulance was dispatched from Calgary to the scene.

STARS Air Ambulance confirmed it transported a 28-year-old female in serious but stable condition to Foothills Hospital in Calgary.
BC Ambulance Services and an ambulance from Banff also responded to the scene.
The road reopened to alternating single lane traffic just before 4 p.m. according to Drive BC.
