LETTER: Further, I hereby promise not to submit my uninformed and arbitrary commentary to any town policies in your town – Canmore – ever.

LETTER: The performative nature of Canmore’s mayor and council continues to grate, no more so than with the feeble excuses for not having fireworks to help celebrate Canada Day.

LETTER: Are we willing to accept the consequences and sacrifice this valley, or are we ready to go into action, individually and collectively to save this endangered space?

LETTER: Perhaps there’s a lesson here for all of us in these increasingly nasty times: to think twice before trying to diminish our fellow citizens through the use of scornful yet ultimately empty labels.

LETTER: To be honest, rather than give over the Parkway exclusively to cyclists, I would rather see Parks Canada tear up the road and return it to nature. When one is greedy, one gets nothing.

LETTER: One Canadian’s point of view, with apologies to Wallace Stevens and his well-known poem “13 Ways of Looking at a Blackbird”.

LETTER: Contrary to a letter in the June 13 edition of the Outlook “climate difficult issue to discuss”, climate science is not difficult to discuss, provided you remove denier rhetoric from the conversation.

LETTER: We are hopeful that the plebiscite in August will result in an ongoing, annual summer implementation of the downtown pedestrian zone and will continue to support active transportation and a healthy, equitable and inclusive community.

LETTER: It is no coincidence that national parks and natural reserves were established around the world in the late 19th century. By this time, the scale of environmental and social destruction caused by empire and industrialized resource extraction had become evident to a global population.

LETTER: I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the beautiful mountain rescue specialists, conservation officers, and park rangers for their exceptional dedication to keeping us safe this year.
