With the return of students to school classrooms this week, Alberta RCMP are sending motorists and community members some back-to-school lessons of their own.

The Edmonton Zone is the only zone in the province with two health authorities AHS and Covenant Health and the Alberta Medical Association president says that has caused added operational controls, administration, oversight, and coordinating bodies.

“It’s ultimately going to be about priorities and choices the community wants to make. Our aim was to provide concrete data, so every local stakeholder can make choices for themselves.”

The Alberta government says it's moving ahead this fall with legislation that would require parents to proactively sign up to have their children opt-in, rather than the usual practice of opting out, for sex education.

“Three Sisters, as the owner and developer of property located on lands to which the ASPs apply, would seem to have a distinct interest from Canmore and the Crown, both of which are government entities,”

The public will have its chance to weigh in on Canmore council potentially moving forward with policy to discourage employee housing in Canmore’s light industrial areas.
