A Bow Valley-based not-for-profit was given judicial review in its attempt to have the Alberta government complete a new environmental assessment of Three Sisters Mountain Village-owned lands.

A $3.375 million construction loan from the municipality to Canmore Community Housing could soon be on the books.

A marathon eight-hour appeal hearing that featured two lengthy adjournments will have a disagreement between two major Canmore property owners decided by the Town’s appeal board.

“Should a shared community space be an outcome for the development, we have an intention to make a material financial commitment which could positively advance the financial viability of the project."

As a detachment run under a Municipal Police Service Agreement, the Town of Canmore would be responsible for the costs of construction.

“We want to make sure they’re done well and we’ve taken a look at different possibilities and sussed out how a program or programs will work, the details with upcoming costs, the impact on various property owners. That means we need expertise hired and resources used and I think this money will be well spent in the long run.”
